Windows 7: Checking for Updates
Posted on 14. Mar, 2011 by joshhrob in Workstation
As soon as you finish building your Windows workstation, the first thing you should do is check for updates.
Click on the Windows Start icon (bottom left) and click on Control Panel
Under the heading Windows Update, click on the link Check for Updates
If there are updates available, click on Install Updates
Accept license terms
Updates are downloaded and installed. May take several minutes or more depending on the size and number of updates and your Internet connection speed
You may need to reboot to finish installation of updates
You may see a screen like this as the system reboots warning not to turn the system off while updates are being installed
After installs are successful and reboot you are returned to the login screen
