Installing Drupal on Windows Using WAMP

Drupal Installation
Download Drupal 6.13 from drupal website

The download is compressed using gzip. To unpack it we will use WinRAR.

Copy the drupal files into the WAMP www directory

Copy the default.settings.php file

rename it to settings.php

Click on the wamp service menu and open phpmyadmin

Click on Databases, enter a name for your database and press Create to create a new database.

Click on Privileges and click Add new User

Enter a username and password for the drupal user

Give the user full rights for Data and Structure permissions. Press GO

Open browser and goto http://localhost/install.php. Click Install Drupal in English

Enter the name of the database and username and password you just created. Press Save and Continue

Enter a name for your website and the admin email address.

Press Save and Continue. Your done
